I'm not convinced I have gone to another world in the first place. I arrived in Town by boat. There are several explanations as to why the technology doesn't exist here. Local legend says they removed a colonial industrialist through divine intervention; it's no surprise their adoption of technology is both slow and idiosyncratic.
