In my case, at least, it's not a distaste for 'consuming gross matter.' [That is definitely quoting someone.] Just being here is sensory overload enough so far - I'm not up to taking the chance yet.

Gabriel was always complaining about Aziraphale's food habit after planetside check-ins. Something about 'sullying the celestial temple of his body.' None of us need to eat, but there are worse things he could be doing with his time.

[For that matter, angels don't need to go for pleasant jogs either, Gabriel.]

After I've had a bit longer to acclimate, I'll try it, to see what the fuss is all about.

...Crowley probably wouldn't appreciate me inviting a demon he doesn't know into his base of operations, but there's nothing saying we couldn't meet up somewhere else.

[He wouldn't appreciate it... but at least she's not inviting anyone into that Earth vehicle that's more heavily warded than the flat itself. That's his real base of operations, she's pretty sure.]

It's entirely true. I don't need food to survive, and sensory overload is still a concern at this point.

Having made it this far, I really don't want to discorporate from sensory overload now. The questions about how and why that happened would make it next to impossible to get back.

I don't lie. [Neriel will gladly omit portions of the truth if she needs to - it was part of getting by in Heaven, honestly - but she doesn't lie. Never has, never will.]

Angels and demons don't need to eat, strictly speaking, but we can if we choose to. I'm choosing not to until I'm reasonably certain the sensory overload won't be too much of a shock.
