[As alarming as it is that this device was delivered to Neriel's work space in the infirmary without drawing any attention... she thinks it may be useful. Especially now that matters are, well, arguably deteriorating further, even with Armageddon grinding to an unexpected halt.]

Can anyone tell me more about Earth? It looks like I'll need to make a planetside visit soon to get to the bottom of something, and our official records are... pretty vague. Comes of most angels not wanting to set foot on the place, I'm sure.

If it helps, we're 6022 years past the Creation of Earth, close to 6023. I believe the prevailing human calendar is at or near 2020? [It's near, not at, but that's never been a relevant calendar to Neriel's interests.]

I hope so. But more than that, I'm hoping to find some answers.

I was told my friends wouldn't even remember me after they Fell, and recently got some very strong evidence to the contrary. As I can only think of one person who can really answer that question, and he certainly won't be coming back here any time soon...

They weren't counting on the field agents, or humans smart enough to see what was happening for what it was, objecting.

Not all of us, but a rathe distressing majority. To them, it's less about the end of Earth and more about relitigating the Rebellion.

Why they can't do that on an uninhabited planet, I still don't know, but I also don't know why they're so eager to pile trauma on top of trauma. I can't support needless suffering.

Neither can I. Even if it is supposed to be part of the Eternal's plan, I can't accept it.

I'm given to understand some of the fight being called off was a question of whether it was Her plan, or if everyone was just assuming it to be.

People who think they know what God wants using it to make other people's lives worse. That sounds a lot like Earth.
