Hello, this is a test post and an announcement!

Welcome to the grand opening of the Multiversal edition of Badgernet! Hopefully you can see this, going multiversal turned out to be surprisingly tricky! Assuming all goes well, you should be able to reply to this and make new posts. You should've also gotten the welcome message. If not, well, you probably won't be able to contact us so we'll be keeping an eye on things and immediately getting on fixing problems as they appear. As such, we'll be too busy to respond to comments on this post. Apologies!

You work in the afterlife?

That's me! Official greeter for the House of Hades.

[Hades...the name is sort of familiar, and she thinks she might have read some mythology about it before. She's not 100% sure, though.] Is that name metaphorical, or is your afterlife an actual building?

Both? There's definitely a 'you exist here now under my roof' kind of feeling, but also there are actual buildings inside the afterlife.

Like a Neighborhood? With enough houses for everyone who shows up?

Of course! We're always expanding to make room for all the newly dead.

Does everyone who dies end up there?

Where else would they go?

From what I've heard, there're supposed to be different afterlives the dead can end up in, depending on their actions in life. That's not the way there?

Oh, we do sort them! There's Tartarus for the worst of the worst, and Elysium for the heroes. Everyone in the middle goes to Asphodel.
ordinarythings: (worried)

[personal profile] ordinarythings 2020-10-24 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
And do they get any chance to leave? Or are they stuck wherever they were put in the first place?

If they were going to complain about ending up in Tartarus, they probably should've lived a better life in the first place!

Plus moving people around takes tons of parchmentwork. Not worth it.

But do they actually know the criteria? Actually, who does the sorting in the first place?
oneiroslacker: (you want to bluff the scales.)

Don't break your oaths, don't insult the gods, don't kill your family members, don't break the rules of hospitality... Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Lord Hades gets final say on everything.

[Alright, note to self: find time to yell at Hades himself.]

I suppose most of those are common sense enough. Though...what counts as an insult to the gods? And do both oathbreakers and kinslayers receive the same fate?
